Always how she wants to see it.......

I called G today to see what was up. I hadn't heard from her since I dropped off the letter at the treatment facility. G says she came home Wednesday and is now in outpatient again. She refuses to call me. Apparently, she thinks my letter was saying that I don't want her in my life and she has been crying about it for a week. He said that the therapist is trying to use it in sessions and show her that it reads the exact opposite. G read it and is trying to tell her the same thing.

Well, that sucks! What that means to me is that she doesn't plan to get sober. I clearly stated that we want her back, but not if she isn't sober. Once again, she reads things the way she wants to. Not sure why I keep trying.....

Hi, I am also a daughter of an addict. My mom is addicted to drugs. I would love to talk to you more. I feel heartbroken all the time and dont want my mother addiction to take over my entire life. I am reading your posts and trying to figure out what "G" and "A" stand for? I find that addict blogger tend to use single letters like this and it makes it tough to follow. Can you elaborate what these abbreviations mean?

I know this post is a bit dated but I hope that the story with your mother has changed in a positive way. I coordinate the Addiction guest blog (http://www.patmoorefoundation.com/blogs/guest) over at Pat Moore Foundation, a drug detox and recovery center in Orange County, CA.

I'd love to get in touch with you about guest blogging for us. We've seen some of the strongest responses to guest posts from bloggers that have an Addict in their life. But so far all of those guest posts are by parents of Addicts. I think adding your viewpoint could be really helpful for our readers.
